This year Zendaya is on a press marathon honey, and she can't be, won't be stopped. "The Drama" was released earlier this year. She slayed the red carpet in bridal looks with the theme of "Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue."

Zendaya exclusively wears So Kate by Christian Louboutin, the 120mm heels that take her already tall figure of 5'10" to 6'3". She has gained such prominence for rocking these heels that Louboutin unofficially named a new shoe Miss Z after her.

At the beginning of summer, Zendaya was on the red carpet for "Spider-Man: Brand New Day." Now, let me tell you. I don't give a flying care about that web flying boy and his cute little British accent that he hides so well in his American character. All I care about is that he's a short king who lipsynced Umbrella, which is second only to Channing Tatum lipsyncing Who Run The World with Beyonce. (If you haven't seen either of those drag performances, stop everything now and feast upon them.) Back to Spider-Man. Again, nice kid. But his WIFE?! GIRRRLLL.

Method Dressing is borrowed from the term "method acting," where an actor stays in character off-screen. Method dressing means the wardrobe serves as a sustained narrative. Law Roach is the King of Method Dressing. You can see Zendaya and Law Roach's brilliance in collaboration when you compare the Spider-Man looks to the Odyssey looks. They styled her short hair for Spider-Man while in the Odyssey she had extensions. This attention to detail not only changes the whole vibe of her outfits but also conveys that the method dressing has gone into a different character. No one is doing it like this!!!

Law Roach read "Spider-Man" and said "Dusting off the cobwebs cause I'm goin into the archives!!!" JK. Law didn't say that. He did say "Don't threaten me with a theme…" This is a 1997 John Galliano!!!

And right after "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," she was immediately on the press tour for Christopher Nolan's film "The Odyssey."

She is serving literal goddess. She is giving Greek Mythology cause she really built like a Muse. This look was pulled straight from the runway. The dress was debuted at Schiaparelli's show in Paris. Law immediately took it off the runway, and had it flown by private jet to Zendaya in London.

These next two photos were taken mere days apart. This A/B comparison is a great testament to the power of styling.

The art of styling may seem simple to outsiders- pick a dress, put it on, done. It's much more than that. Your client needs to fit into the garment. Sometimes, there need to be alterations, which not only cost money but also precious time with tight deadlines. The designer/fashion house either has to be willing to lend the garment or the actor has to be able to afford to purchase it. Some fashion houses/designers might decline not only because of budget but also because of association. Relationships are a huge part of styling. Lastly, the garment has to actually work for the actor. It has to be a piece that they wear, not a garment that wears them. It needs to feel like it fits the actor's persona while also being a stunning piece for audiences to notice. On top of this, there's hair and makeup that need to be styled accordingly along with accessories that tie together a whole look. Styling is the art of curation in the fashion world- styling is displaying taste -not just the ability to afford luxury.

Back-to-back press tours, Zendaya is in her own league.

Method Dressing, I would argue, is not merely just throwing on another costume for an actor. Because the outfit, the look, the style still has to be something the actor can actually pull off. It can't be a costume- per se- because on the red carpet the actors are representing themselves- not the character. These gowns are being worn by Zendaya. The gowns are not overwhelming her. And that's also part of method dressing. The actor still has to talk as themself on the red carpet and press conferences. They are in the realm of the character but they are still themselves. Method dressing requires that the garment represent the actor and the character simultaneously.

Law Roach, the image architect, was "officially" recognized for this level of styling for the first time in Challengers - which was Zendaya's first leading role in a film.

They obviously had a lot of fun with the theme of tennis and brought out fun, spunky looks that had us all intrigued. And more importantly, it got us into the seats of movie theaters. After all, that's a press tour's main goal- to get us viewers interested enough to pay for a movie ticket.

Law and Z had dabbled in method dressing, but not to the full tour extent of Challengers. Z has method dressed for the previous Spider-Man movies, The Greatest Showman, and most notably- Dune.

Method Dressing is not new. Margot Robbie went full throttle with Barbie wearing vintage Barbie outfits on the red carpet. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo were method dressing for almost three years for Wicked, donning distinctly pink and green wherever they went.

But Law Roach has perfected it and consistently executed it with Zendaya. What they're doing for movies is undeniable, unique, and exciting. Zendaya has strategically used the red carpet to elevate her brand to evolve from child star to an A-list actress. Zendaya is very clear that acting is her main craft. Those runway girlies should thank the heavens Zendaya chose acting. She takes advantage of the red carpet frenzy to pull attention towards her projects through method dressing. We pay attention and are more interested in the films. It's a deliberate, brilliant strategy that she and Law Roach implement as their own marketing. It's a thrilling time to be alive- to witness Z and Law at the top of their game, and it's still only the beginning.

Law Roach has brought to the spotlight the craftsmanship behind styling and how much weight it has on a celebrity's projects. I'll do a Law Roach deep dive at some point but this man is getting his flowers and he's still in the midst of his exploding career. Zendaya is a tall, slim, attractive woman. How difficult could it be? She's sample size! Well, have you seen tall, white, blonde Taylor Swift and her hideous looks? How about Blake Lively and the catastrophe that is her wardrobe? Law Roach makes it look easy because he delivers perfection.

Another way that a stylist's craftsmanship is more obvious is comparing the runway to the red carpet. Contrast the Bottega Veneta worn by Zendaya styled by Law Roach to the runway look.

The runway model has shoes that don't elongate the legs, is shorter, and has a full bustier. Law styled it without the bustier, had the skirt lengthened, kept the earrings small, added the anklet and her go-to So Kate for a lengthy, skin-bearing look that lent itself more to the narrative of Dune. Brilliant.

Zendaya still has two more movies that she stars in for 2026. Dune 3 and Shrek 5. I cannot wait to see the press tour for those films. I am SAT. As method dressing continues to garner attention, it begs the question of not if, but when studio executives will recognize this marketing tactic and include it in the film's marketing budget. Law Roach and Zendaya have literally changed the game and I am a happy spectator to devour the fashion and get lost in the films. She ate.
